BASF to Boost Ammonium Carbonate Production

The company plans to increase production by 30%.

In response to increasing demand for ammonium carbonate, BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) says it will increase its production capacity of the ingredient by 30%. The company expects to reach its goal by 2013.

Ammonium carbonate is primarily used as a synthetic leavening agent for baked goods.
