Aker BioMarine’s (Oslo, Norway) has obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification for its harvesting vessel, the Saga Sea. The vessel has a registered food facility onboard which harvests and processes food grade krill oil.
To meet ISO standards, Aker was required to demonstrate that it can consistently supply krill oil that meets a variety of customer and regulatory requirements. The company also engaged in personnel training, and an internal audit, while showing its commitment to continuous improvement of processing systems.
