Clarisoy is advertised as the world’s first vegetable-based protein that offers clarity and protein nutrition for beverage applications.
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM; Decatur, IL) says it will introduce the first line extension of its Clarisoy isolated soy protein line for beverages, at the upcoming Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas in late July. Clarisoy is advertised as the world’s first vegetable-based protein that offers clarity and protein nutrition for beverage applications.
The newest addition, Clarisoy 150, is said to be a clean-tasting, isolated soy protein that is “specially processed for use in beverage systems with a pH of less than 4.0 with cloud systems or beverages neutralized to a pH of 7.0 of higher.”
The original version of Clarisoy, Clarisoy 100, is a transparent isolated soy protein that enables 100% soluble protein fortification in beverages with a pH below 4.0.
According to the company, “Due to its clean flavor and high solubility in higher pH ranges, Clarisoy 150 allows for greater use of soy protein in mildly flavored neutral beverages such as meal replacement or weight-management products.”
The company says Clarisoy 150 “enables beverage manufacturers to formulate with up to 10 g of protein.”
Additionally, at IFT the company says it will present further science supporting its Clarisoy line at an ingredients showcase on Wednesday, June 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In other Clarisoy news, Bruce Bennett, general manager of ADM Specialty Products, Oilseeds, added, “With our newly built commercial-scale Clarisoy production plant, ADM is poised to meet the growing needs of beverage manufacturers seeking to deliver protein in their products.”
At the IFT show, the company will be sampling “Fruit and Veggie Jive,” a beverage featuring Clarisoy 100 plus one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetables.
