Waleria has partnered with New Chapter where their aspurus Sharavari extract is featured in New Chapter’s Shatavari Force supplement.

Waleria Healthtech Private Limited (Waleria), a woman-first ingredient innovator, has unveiled in a recent press release, that the companys’ aspurus Shatavari extract has become a featured active in New Chapter’s new Shatavari Force dietary supplement.

Shatavari Force is a clinically studied supplement that may help provide multi-symptom support for women that are experiencing hormonal transitions. Some of these benefits may include daily vitality, decreases in stress, less hot flashes, as well as night sweats which may allow for better sleep. With the inclusion in Shatavari Force, Waleria’s Shatavari root extract is hitting national retail shelves.

According to the press release, “Shatavari is an adaptogenic herb known in Ayurveda as the “Queen of Herbs” and has been used for centuries to nourish women’s health and balance hormones naturally.” Waleria’s aspurus contains full-spectrum Shatavari extract that has >5% of Shatavarins from High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) methods. Waleria’s gold-standard study found that through daily supplementation of aspurus, menopausal symptoms improved, such as mood, libido, sweats, fatigue, sleep quality, and hot flashes.

Two randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials1, discovered that the supplement may provide some health benefits for women as they age.

Clinical Study 1: Relief for Premenopausal Symptoms

Researchers conducted a three-month randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study that consisted of more than 150 perimenopausal women that were experiencing multi-menopausal symptoms. Results stemming from the study showed a decrease in the frequency of multi-menopausal symptoms, as well as intensity reduction.

As mentioned in the press release, additional study results revealed:

  • Noticeable improvement in hot flushes within just four weeks
  • Outcomes assessed using the scientifically validated scale, which captures both frequency and severity across 12 domains (of menopausal symptoms), marking it first in Shatavari clinical trial.

A previously study published in April 2024, explored the safety and efficacy of the Ayurvedic Shatavari extract formulation on menopausal symptoms compared to the placebo, which used microcrystalline cellulose.1 The study concluded1, “This study also showed that the test product was safe and well-tolerated with no major adverse events in the participants with menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, anxiety, stress, sleep, etc.). Therefore, it could be a safe alternative to modern drugs. The efficacy of the test product was well demonstrated concerning a significant improvement in menopausal symptoms. It was found to be an effective therapy for psychological and somatic problems related to menopausal syndrome.”

Clinical Study 2: aspurūs Role in Female Libido and Sexual Wellness

A two-month double-blind, placebo-controlled, investigated the aspurūs extract in a lower dose in reproductive aged women that were experiencing a reduction in libido.

According to the press release, the results from the study found:

  • Higher frequency of sexual activity in the aspurūs group vs. placebo
  • Marked improvements in arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and overall sexual satisfaction after just four weeks.

Researchers examined the energy-libido connection which has been connected to stress, fatigue, and mood. The press release mentioned that this study was one of the first large-scale, placebo-controlled studies that evaluated Shatavari’s role in sexual wellness support.

“Our collaboration with New Chapter is just the start of what is possible when clinically studied ingredients that target menopause meet brand integrity,” said Komal Baldwa, Founder of Waleria in the press release. “aspurus gives formulators a standardized botanical that delivers measurable results – and Shatavari Force is a perfect showcase of that science.”

Aside from research, Waleria partners with women farmers that cultivate the herbs which helps supply sustainable income for both economically and socially challenged women.
