BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) took the opportunity to “pre-launch” its new Apocarotenal 2 CWD colorant at Vitafoods Europe. According to the company, Apocarotenal 2 CWD is a nature-identical ingredient for beverage, dairy, and confectionery products that offers pH-independent coloring shades and low dosage. It is free from allergens and is kosher and halal. The firm says that its cold-water-dispersible powder formulation offers the option of replacing artificial colorants on a long-term basis.
