Valensa’s (Orlando, FL) microalgae ingredients, Parry organic spirulina and Parry organic chlorella, have been affirmed once again as Non-GMO Project Verified. The company positions these ingredients for the vegan and vegetarian market, where they provide plant-based sources of protein and vitamin B12.

Umasudhan C.P., president and CEO of Valensa International, pointed out the benefits of spirulina and especially chlorella. “Spirulina seems to get more attention, but chlorella  has a great potential as a promising and sustainable microalgae superfood. When cultivated with natural light, chlorella is an important vegan source of vitamin B12, which is available in the most biologically nutritious form. This is exactly what the vegan and vegetarian populations need as a supplement to add vitamin B12 to their diets.”

Chlorella also supplies unique phytonutrients such as chlorella growth factor, Umasudhan added, which helps in detoxification, cellular health, immune support, and antiaging support.
