RedLeaf Biologics Inc. (Lexington, KY) has announced SQF (Safe Quality Food) Level II certification for its manufacturing facility in Georgetown, KY. RedLeaf produces botanical extracts from a proprietary, non-GMO sorghum varietal, called RedNatural, without the use of harsh solvents, and are free from additives and carriers. The SQF program is administered by FMI, The Food Industry Association and benchmarked to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Recognized by retailers and regulatory agencies throughout the world, SQF requires a rigorous, credible food safety management system.
“Achieving this certification is an important milestone as we begin commercial-scale production at our new facility,” said RedLeaf quality manager Melissa Turner in a press release. “Operational excellence requires a commitment to safety and quality—SQF certification both validates prior efforts and benchmarks current quality standards.”
“Product safety and quality are our top priority,” said Jordan Wood, CEO of RedLeaf. “We are proud of this achievement and pleased to be able to pass along confidence in our manufacturing process to our customers.”
