The stevia supplier aims to serve a growing Latin American market.
Seeing potential for alternative sweetener use in the Latin American markets, stevia supplier PureCircle Ltd. (Chicago) has opened a facility in Mexico City. The new site will serve the Latin American food and beverage industries, where PureCircle service, sales, and technical members are already residing in the region.
While stevia has a rich history of use and harvest in Latin America, PureCircle says its familiarity with today’s high-purity stevia ingredients is still low. This is starting to change, as market research Mintel recently reported that more than 100 stevia-sweetened products launched in the region last year.
PureCircle is encouraging all of its existing and prospective Latin American customers to attend a “Pure Circle University” seminar, where attendees can learn all they need to know about applying stevia to foods and beverages and communicating stevia’s benefits to consumers.
