Nutrasource’s IGEN non-GMO third-party certification program verifies non-GMO label claims for dietary supplements and food.
Orgain, maker of nutrition and protein shakes and bars, in February received third-party non-GMO certification for its collagen powders from clinical trial, certification, and regulatory firm Nutrasource (Guelph, ON, Canada). Nutrasource’s IGEN certification program confirms the absence of detectable amounts of genetically engineered GMO proteins and genes.
“Nutrasource is extremely proud to have Orgain as a member of the Certifications by Nutrasource platform by joining the IGEN program,” said Kevin Yan, Nutrasource’s director, certifications and analytics, in a press release. “In becoming a member, Orgain is making a commitment to their customers about the quality of their products, and the values and transparency of their brand.”
IGEN certification applies to products ranging from herbal supplements and vitamins to food ingredients. Nutrasource also offers third-party certification programs for omega-3 fatty acids (IFOS), probiotics (IPRO), and cannabidiol (ICAP).
