Brown, red, and wild rice offerings deliver solid nutritional value.
Indian Harvest Inc. (Bemidji, MN) has added three new whole grain puffed rice varieties to its family of puffed grains: puffed brown rice, puffed Colusari red rice, and puffed wild rice.
The company’s proprietary puffing process not only enables each grain kernel to remain whole and individual, but also facilitates the retention of beneficial minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and protein.
In the puffed format, the products add a crunchy texture to an array of foods. They are also amenable to quick cooking and are said to rehydrate with ease.
All three products have also been awarded Global Food Safety Certification for blending and packaging from the British Retail Consortium.
