Maypro (Purchase, NY) joined the International Probiotics Association (IPA), which has a diverse membership of over 100 companies spanning 30 countries from industry, healthcare, academia, research, regulation, and more.

Dan Lifton, president of Maypro Ventures, said in a press release, “Maypro is positioning itself to be focused, educated, involved, and ready to meet our customers’ category needs. As an organization operating internationally, joining IPA is a natural step for Maypro to ensure we understand the global impact of the probiotic market.”

IPA works with government bodies and industry to assist in establishing scientific standards for probiotic supplements, probiotic pharmaceutical products, and functional foods. It also educates consumers on probiotics.

“Our members receive the most up-to-date research and industry information that enhances their overall business development,” said George Paraskevakos, executive director of IPA, in a press release. “Having Maypro, a well-respected veteran in the nutraceutical and functional ingredient industry, join our ranks is a testament to the growing importance of probiotics to both the industry and consumers.”
