Lallemand Bio-Ingredients will exhibit 4 fermentation-derived ingredients at Vitafoods Asia 2026, running September 2-4 in Bangkok, spanning metabolic health, gastric comfort, skin aging, and immune support.¹
The ingredients behind it carry meaningfully different levels of clinical support, from a single small pilot study to a randomized, placebo-controlled trial with over 100 participants.
What Ingredients Is Lallemand Featuring, and What Does Each One Target?
Re-Vaya is described in the announcement as a "proprietary specialty fermented combination developed to support metabolic health beyond weight management," and will be available as a tasting-bar gummy at the event. Gastro-AD is a postbiotic marketed for gastric discomfort, including acid reflux and heartburn symptoms.
Veri-te is a patented, fermentation-derived form of resveratrol positioned across healthy aging, women's health, and beauty-from-within categories, while M-Gard is a yeast beta-glucan the company describes as having more than 45 years of research behind its role in "immune training."
What Clinical Evidence Backs Each of These Ingredients?
The evidence base varies considerably by ingredient. Re-Vaya's cited support is an open-label pilot study in 15 older, overweight adults over 28 days, which used proteomic analysis of abdominal fat biopsies to track changes in inflammatory and mitochondrial signaling pathways; the study reported directional shifts in these markers but, as an open-label pilot without a placebo arm, was not designed to isolate the ingredient's effect from other factors.²
Gastro-AD's evidence is the broadest in volume, with the company citing testing across more than 900 people over decades, though that figure aggregates multiple studies of varying design rather than reflecting a single trial.
Meanwhile, Veri-te has arguably the most rigorous single-study support among the four: a randomized, placebo-controlled trial in 134 women that compared oral resveratrol, topical resveratrol, and a combination against placebo, finding the combined oral-and-topical group showed the greatest improvement in wrinkle scores after 8 weeks.3
M-Gard's most recent data comes from a placebo-controlled pilot trial using influenza vaccination as a standardized immune challenge, an approach that let researchers measure a concrete, objective endpoint, antibody titers, rather than a self-reported symptom score, though the trial's own design is still labeled a pilot.4
Why Does the Strength of Evidence Vary So Much Within a Single Company's Portfolio?
This spread is not unusual for an ingredient supplier with products at different points in their development lifecycle. Older, more established ingredients like M-Gard and Gastro-AD have accumulated research over years or decades, while a newer ingredient like Re-Vaya, positioned in the increasingly competitive metabolic health category, is still supported primarily by exploratory pilot data typical of an early-stage launch.
