Glanbia (Chicago) has introduced a line of high-protein savory seasonings that food manufacturers can add to their products to lend protein and flavor. It is suited for foods and snacks such as chips, popcorn, and pretzels.
The XtraPro Seasonings line is available in customized flavors and in dairy- or plant-based protein options. Flavors range from BBQ, ranch, and cheddar to more adventurous flavors like Ghost Pepper, garam masala, and coconut curry. The topical seasonings can boost protein content by 3 to 7 g, the company says.
The company cites market data indicating that savory and salty snacks are poised to grow at a healthy clip in the United States.
