Ganeden and Agostoni Partner on Chocolate Probiotics

Ganeden Biotech Inc. (Cleveland) has announced a new partnership with Agostoni Chocolate (Lecco, Italy) to market the probiotic GanedenBC30 in chocolate bars.

Under the Chocolate Plus Private Label, Agostoni...s Italian dark chocolate'”available at 70% cocoa content or 60% for a softer flavor'”now comes enriched with Ganeden...s patented strain of Bacillus coagulans, intended to deliver helpful bacteria to the digestive system.

GanedenBC30 delivers' excellent results in survivability of the bacteria'”for health purposes'”and it does not interfere with [Agostoni...s] final premium flavor, making it an ideal functional chocolate solution,' said Antonio Agostoni, head of Agostoni...s product development team.

The chocolate probiotic bars will be available as bite-sized 0.5-oz. mini-bars and 1.1-oz. snack bars. Toasted flax seed (for omega-3 content) may also be added into this formulation.
