FrieslandCampina Ingredients will feature protein and prebiotic innovations at SupplySide Global 2025

FrieslandCampina Ingredients announced it will showcase application innovations for protein and prebiotic solutions at SupplySide Global, taking place October 28–29, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.¹ Samples of the various applications, including snacks, drinks, and supplements, will feature Excellion caseinates as well as Biotis GOS and Fermentis. FrieslandCampina will be present at booth #3751 at the event.

Excellion caseinates: protein innovations for active nutrition

The range of Excellion caseinates presented at the event aims to demonstrate how to meet consumers’ protein goals in light of rising popularity of GLP-1 medications, which has increased consumer focus on nutrition and muscle health. The casein ingredients support muscle synthesis through a slow release of amino acids, enabling their use in active and performance nutrition overnight formulations. Applications for bars and drinks will be available to sample at the booth.

The Excellion casein protein ingredients include Excellion Calcium Caseinate S, Excellion EM 9, Excellion Textpro, Excellion EM 7, Excellion Magnesium Caseinate S, Excellion Potassium Caseinate, Excellion Sodium Caseinate S, Excellion® Calcium Caseinate I, and Excellion Calcium Caseinate A.²

Experts will be present to explain how Excellion Textpro can be formulated in high protein bars. The new ingredient supports a soft texture in the bar and reduces product hardening for up to 12 months of shelf life.² Excellion Textpro is a patented ingredient and designed for bars containing 30% - 40% protein. Samples of the bar with no added sugar will also be available for attendees.

Biotis GOS and Fermentis: prebiotic and fermented solutions for gut and performance health

Also presented at SupplySide Global will be the ingredient Biotis GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides), which will highlight prebiotics and fibers, plus the importance of gut health on overall wellbeing, an area of interest for consumers. The press release notes the increase in interest in prebiotics, as seen through a rise in the search term over the past five years, according to data from Google.³ The light and sweet taste will be available to sample in gummies and several other applications. Biotis GOS has a long shelf life and is suitable for sports nutrition, food, and drinks.⁴

Biotis GOS is an ingredient in the fermented solution Biotis Fermentis, which contains whey protein and probiotic cultures, offering benefits in the active and performance nutrition categories, or support for individuals transitioning off GLP-1 medications.

Last month, FrieslandCampina Ingredients announced it would be opening a new R&D center in Singapore.⁵ The new facility is anticipated to promote faster delivery of ingredient solutions and meet the growing consumer demand in the region.
