Glanbia and the Flax Council of Canada will continually update the flax science database.
The Flax Council of Canada (Manitoba) and Glanbia Nutritionals (Fitchburg, WI) are partnering on what they say is the industry’s most comprehensive portal for all flax-related research: the Flax Research Database for Human Health and Nutrition.
The Flax Research Database is an online portal containing decades of historical abstracts on flax nutrition and formulating with flax. The database, which will be updated by Glanbia on a monthly basis, is restricted to peer-reviewed publications that can be found on the most commonly used scientific search engines.
According to the Flax Council of Canada, close to 160 new publications have been added to the database since its last update in 2009.
Publications already in the database include those covering flax’s nutritional components (antioxidants, fiber, omega-3, lignans), human clinical trials on flax and disease reduction, and food formulation.
The Flax Research Database can be accessed at the link above.
