
Eurofins Healthcare Assurance expands GMP certification scopes
The four new scopes are intended to continue to promote safety and best practices in various growing sectors.
In a June 10, press release, the Eurofins Healthcare Assurance network announced four new GMP certification scope programs to help buyers and suppliers achieve U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliance for dietary ingredients, cosmetics, and over-the-counter drugs. The growth of certain sectors in the US was noted in the press release for the following areas:
• ISO 22716:2007 – Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics
• NSF/ANSI 455-3 – 2024 – Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics
• NSF/ANSI 455-4 – 2024 – Good Manufacturing Practices for Over-the Counter Drugs
• 21 CFR 111/117, NSF/ANSI 173, Section 8 – 2024 for Dietary Ingredients
The process includes an on-site audit that evaluates product categories and manufacturing processes and an assessment of quality management systems, with any issues resolved before the certification is presented. Monitoring and recertification follow after the initial Eurofins Healthcare Assurance GMP certification, along with permission to use Eurofins Certification marks.
