CarobWay will present prebiotic fiber CarobWay at IFT FIRST 2025
The ingredient, made from made from upcycled carob pulp, offering gut health support, metabolic benefits, and compatibility with GLP-1 and weight management diets.
In a June 30, 2025, press release, food technology company CarobWay announced that their new prebiotic fiber CarobBiome would be introduced at IFT FIRST, taking place July 14-16 in Chicago. CarobWay will be present at booth #S3470AR for the event. The fiber, made from upcycled carob pulp, is intended to support gut health and gut microbiota.
The insoluble fibers in the ingredient’s composition are intended to support bowel function with a low potential for bloat and other side effects associated with fibers. The soluble fibers aim to support the prebiotic effect, help balance the microbiome, and contain antioxidants.
“Not all prebiotics are equal,” stated Udi Alroy, CEO and co-founder of CarobWay, in the press release. “While many fibers on the market can cause some level of stomach discomfort, CarobBiome is specifically designed to ease bloating and maintain a happy tummy. Moreover, it is completely natural, vegan, and allows for a clean, simple ingredients label. It also is highly nutritious.”
The prebiotic effects of CarobBiome are undergoing preclinical evaluation, the press release explained. The introduction of the ingredient coincides with expanding consumer interest for fiber and prebiotic solutions, it adds, also explaining that fiber can support weight management through the slowing of digestion, supporting metabolic health through beneficial bacteria, and even stimulating the release of the GLP-1 hormone, which helps regulate appetite and blood sugar levels.
“With increased focus on GLP-1, and digestive health topping consumer priorities, our prebiotic carob fiber offers a potent, natural solution for both trends,” added Alroy. “As GLP-1 users and those dieting in general are eating less, they need to be sure they are getting more from every bite they consume. This includes more nutrient-dense foods imbued with protein and fiber. CarobBiome™ is rich in fiber, making it an ideal support for GLP-1 diets, and it delivers valuable micronutrients.”
The ingredient has a neutral flavor, is heat stable, and is non-GMO. It can be formulated into baked goods, confectionery items, nutrition bars, snacks, meal replacements, and shakes.
