In 2026, CarobWay will be debuting their first commercial product called CarobBiome. Through the distribution agreement, CarobWay will now be able to grow their carob-based portfolio in the US.
Derived from carob fruit, CarobBiome is a novel and natural prebiotic fiber. The fruit may help provide in helping support overall metabolic function, digestive comfort, and strengthens satiety.
CarobWay is a fully vertically integrated organization that operates, both as a innovator and cultivator for specialty carob-sourced ingredients. The company’s ingredient, CarobBiome, is derived from upcycled carob pulp and is a minimally processed prebiotic and is a clean label ingredient. The product utilizes an extraction method that involves using only heat and water.

CarobBiome consists of 85% total fiber. According to the press release, the insoluble fiber helps to support through the reduction of bloating and promoting g.i. regularity. Regarding soluble fiber, it can help with naturally occurring polyphenols and supporting beneficial microbes. Beneficial gut bacteria create short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) which the press release mentions are a reason prebiotics are valued. “SCFAs are known to support gut barrier function, facilitating blood glucose management, and help enhance satiety while reducing cravings, leading to improved weight management and blood sugar balance,” the press release explained.
