Decision-makers in Brazil are currently working to define the selection criteria for foods and drinks that can bear functional/health claims. Industry experts say that Brazil’s influence will no doubt be an influence on other Latin American countries involved in the early stages of the same process.
Following the creation of a multidisciplinary Working Group made up of representatives of the Pan-American Health Organization, Brazil’s Health Ministry, academics, and the private sector, Brazil has a 24 month deadline to define the selection criteria for functional claim-bearing foods and drinks.

FDA and FTC issue more warning letters to copycat delta-8 THC food products
July 16th 2024The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission have jointly issued warning letters to five companies for selling copycat food products containing delta-8 THC in violation of the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act.
