Bio-Cat obtains organic certification from QAI

Bio-Cat and Bio-Cat Microbials announced that both companies have received an Organic Certification from QAI.

In a recent press release, Bio-Cat, Inc. announced that both Bio-Cat and Bio-Cat Microbials, LLC, obtained an Organic Certification from Quality Assurance International (QAI), a certification organization affiliated with the USDA National Organic Program.1 With the certification, it “extends to their branded products, Optiziome P3 Hydrolyzer from Bio-Cat, Inc. and Optibiome BS50 from Bio-Cat Microbials, Inc.”

“Bio-Cat is committed to producing top-quality products for our customers,” said Robert Boyd, director of compliance for both companies.1 “Achieving organic certification for our facilities is another level of quality that we have implemented into our operations, as well as for the ingredients we produce.”

“Bio-Cat and Bio-Cat Microbials are proud to support the growing natural product movement with a robust portfolio of non-GMO enzymes and non-GMO microbials,” stated Chris Schuler, CEO & Founder of Bio-Cat and Bio-Cat Microbials.1 “I look forward to our team sharing this information with the industry at Vitafoods Europe in Barcelona this week.”

The press release1 emphasizes a “food as medicine” movement that is seeing an increase in growth. A recent Acosta Group natural and organic study2 showed that over the last six months, shoppers reported purchasing 23% more natural products and 22% more organic products.

During the Natural Products Expo West 2025, which took place in Anaheim, CA, March 5-7, 2025, Carlotta Mast, senior vice president and market leader for Boulder, CO-based New Hope Network, mentioned at the State and Future of Natural/Organics session that,3 “The U.S. natural and organic industry continues to grow, hitting $219 billion in sales last year.” Mast presented data which was published in the Nutrition Business Journal and said that the natural and organic industry within the US had increased by 6.9% in 2024 and 70% of those sales were coming from the food and beverage sector.3

Obtaining an Organic Certification is a challenging inspection process and require companies to not use GMOs, synthetic pesticides, and growth hormones.1 With this certification, Bio-Cat and Bio-Cat Microbials will be in a stronger position to meet the demands of consumers.
