Soy and fiber ingredients supplier Archer Daniels Midland (Chicago) introduced a new fiber-protein combo ingredient called Superb at SupplySide West. According to the company, besides allowing manufacturers to boost their products’ protein and fiber content, Superb helps with water binding and improves the texture of meat and meat-substitute products.

The company also said it intends to begin offering pea protein isolates and concentrates in the near future, extending its focus beyond soy protein. ADM currently specializes in soy protein isolates and concentrates, soy texture proteins and crisps, and soy flour and grits. It also has expertise in fiber with its Fibersol line of soluble dietary fiber.

“ADM is evaluating options for offering pea protein isolates and concentrates in response to growing demand for versatile, functional proteins that can be easily incorporated into a wide range of products, from energy bars to beverages,” the company said via press release.
