SaltWorks (Woodinville, WA) is now Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Level 2 certified by NSF International (Ann Arbor, MI) for its gourmet sea salt. The company received the highest possible rating of “excellent.”
The certification follows a multi-day audit conducted by NSF International in the fall of 2015 at SaltWorks’ salt processing facility, located outside of Seattle. SQF Level 2 is a benchmark for responsible food safety processes under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), which ensures food manufacturers are in line with FDA guidelines and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
“We have always been committed to providing the highest quality and safest all-natural salts to our customers,” says Mark Zoske, CEO, SaltWorks. “We recognized that the SQF certification program demonstrates integrity and responsibility, which reflects our core company values and the sea salts that we produce. It underscores how effective our proprietary processes are and how hard our team works to ensure we meet those safety and quality goals every day.”
