Crespel & Deiters Group, one of the leading wheat processors in Europe, has announced a newly founded U.S. subsidiary: Crespel & Deiters Food USA LP.
Crespel & Deiters Group (C&DG; Ibbenbüren, Germany), one of the leading wheat processors in Europe, has announced a newly founded U.S. subsidiary: Crespel & Deiters Food USA LP. The Chicago-based subsidiary makes C&DG’s range of non-GMO functional wheat-based ingredients available to industrial customers in North America. This includes application-oriented manufacturing expertise from Loryma, the Group’s food specialist. Loryma produces wheat proteins, native and modified wheat starches, extrudates, and wheat-based functional blends for industrial food production.
The U.S. subsidiary, says C&DG, will help manufacturers respond to the increased demand for sustainable plant-based products such as meat alternatives, and with the help of application experts at Loryma, can offer support to manufacturers with application concepts, inspiration, and product development. As an example, wheat texturates in the company’s Lory Tex range, in combination with wheat-based binders can provide authentic meat-like texture.
“By specializing in wheat, we have built up a wealth of experience with time. Our company’s mission is to maximize the use of this renewable raw material to create innovative solutions,” explains Philipp Deiters, member of the Crespel & Deiters executive board and a sixth-generation family member, in a press release. “This allows our customers to achieve more with less, all with the purpose of cooperating to conserve our planet’s resources. We are confident that we can also convince our American customers of their functionality.”
Two experienced sales people have been recruited to look after new and existing customers, and to keep delivery times short, local storage capacities have been installed.
