Vitafoods Europe Names NBT Winners

The organizers of the Vitafoods Europe trade show announced the show’s 2013 Nutraceutical Business & Technology Award (NBT) winners. The awards were presented at an awards gala held during the show’s run on May 14-16 in Geneva, Switzerland. The 2013 winners are:
- Most Innovative Ingredient:Bionov
- Most Effective Product Development Strategy:Gnosis S.p.A.
- Most Effective Marketing Campaign:Aker BioMarine Antarctic
- Environmental Excellence:Olympic Seafood AS
- Best New Partnership, Merger, or Acquisition:Covance
- Outstanding Application in Health Management:Biothera
- Best New Product: Vitaplus Ltd.
- Best New Finished Product: Kitozyme SA
Richard G. Mueller, CEO of Biothera, which received the award for Outstanding Application in Health Management for its immune-health ingredient Wellmune WGP, said, “We are gratified to receive this award in recognition of the proven health benefits that Wellmune can bring to a broad range of consumers through functional foods and nutraceuticals.” The company attributes its win to its body of peer-reviewed, published clinical research supporting Wellmune’s benefits for immune health.
