A line of zeaxanthin and lutein dietary supplements is certified under the NSF International Certified for Sport program.
ZeaVision (Chesterfield, MO), a manufacturer of eye health dietary supplements, says it has certified its entire EyePromise supplement line under the NSF International Certified for Sport program.
The Certified for Sport program ensures, through periodic testing and facility auditing, that products bearing its seal are free of a wide range of banned substances. The program is recognized by major U.S. sport organizations, including Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the National Football League (NFL).
Zeavision says its announcement marks the first time a company has received the NSF sports certification for vision supplements. The company’s products include EyePromise Visual Edge (containing 26 mg of zeaxanthin and 8 mg of lutein), Eye Promise Zeaxanthin, and EyePromise EZ Tears for dry eye condition.
Several studies suggest that zeaxanthin and lutein can benefit eye health, including by improving visual reaction time.
