The U.S.-China Health Products Association has welcomed new members. Founded in July 2010, the association says it is the only U.S. nonprofit association operating in China and dedicated to the overall natural health products industry.

The newest members are ingredient suppliers Unigen, Lonza, and Martek/DSM; New Hope Natural Media; and natural cosmetics brand Derma-e.

The association says it is “in a unique position to work on encouraging China’s natural health products industry to become more open and transparent. Having outstanding relationships with both the U.S. and Chinese governments, the association has been sharing information and submitting reports to China’s State Food and Drug Administration, Chinese Ministry of Commerce, National Reform and Development Committee, the State Council, as well as the U.S. Embassy.” It notes it helped eight U.S. companies successfully enter the China market last year. Its goal is to grow China’s market for finished natural health products.
