Unibar Launches UniGold Free Lutein

Unibar Corp. (Houston) has introduced UniGold, a proprietary free lutein extract. The ingredient is manufactured from marigold flowers exclusively for Unibar by Synthite Industries, one of the largest cultivators and manufacturers of marigold oleoresin in India.

Unibar offers UniGold in the following forms: 5% or 10% vegetarian beadlet and 20% vegetable oil suspension form, manufactured in the United States by Encap Technology using a patent-pending encapsulation process. The process creates an all-natural, protective barrier around the lutein, shielding it from the acidic conditions of the stomach and allowing for timed release in the small intestine.

According to Sevanti Mehta, Unibar’s president, UniGold’s lutein supply stock is secure, calling Synthite the largest marigold producer in India. UniGold is patented and self-affirmed GRAS. The company says that third-party laboratory testing has confirmed that it is stable for 24 months.
