Nutrafiles (London), a health ingredients market research group, has named Tocomin its 2010 ingredient of the year, according to Carotech Inc. (Edison, NJ). Tocomin is a palm tocotrienol complex from Carotech Bhd. (Perak, Malaysian).
The company claims to be the world’s largest and only GMP-certified tocotrienol producer.
Carotech vice president WH Leong welcomed the news, adding that the company is expecting new scientific research, including positive human clinical trials, to be finished this year.
The Nutrafiles award is based on readers’ votes based on several ingredient factors, including intellectual property rights, market potential, regulatory status, novelty, and biological action.
