Tate & Lyle Acquires Biovelop

Biovelop is a supplier of oat beta glucans and other ingredients.

Tate & Lyle PLC (London, UK) has acquired Swedish oat ingredients manufacturer Biovelop (Kimstad, Sweden) for a currently undisclosed price.

Biovelop produces various oat ingredients, including PromOat and Avenacare oat beta glucans, prOATein oat protein, insoluble oat fiber, and oat dextrins. All of the company’s products are sourced from non-GMO oats and produced without chemical extraction.

Biovelop is a relatively new company-its first commercial products sold in 2010-and Tate & Lyle says its ingredients will complement Tate & Lyle’s existing line of fiber and wellness products.
