In a 12-week trial on 40 subjects consuming 500 mg of Serenzo daily, subjects saw significant improvements in mood as measured by several psychological test methods.

Nexira (Somerville, NJ) announced new, supporting data on its Serenzo botanical ingredient for stress relief. Serenzo is a combination of Citrus sinensis extract and acacia gum, which acts as a carrier. In a 12-week trial on 40 subjects consuming 500 mg of Serenzo daily, subjects saw significant improvements in mood as measured by several psychological test methods. The ingredient was associated with mood improvements as measured by four testing methods, including a 50% overall reduction in Hamilton Anxiety Scale scores and a 53% reduction in SCL-90-R scores. Salivary cortisol and alpha-amylase levels also improved with intake of Serenzo, the company said.
