Carotech Inc. says it offers the world's only GMP-certified production of red palm oil concentrate.
Perhaps as a response to the Dr. Oz effect, Carotech Inc. (Edison, NJ) has added red palm oil to its line of palm-derived vitamin E tocotrienols and tocopherols.
Spectra red palm oil concentrate is produced under GMPs, and the company says it offers the world's only red palm oil concentrates with that distinction. Spectra red palm oil concentrate is intended for soft gel supplements, and, while much of the fat is pulled out of this oil, it still retains a 10/5% ratio of tocotrienols to tocopherols-the ratio found naturally in red palm fruit. The concentrate bears 100 times more of these vitamin E compounds than standard red palm oil, says Carotech.
In an official press release, Carotech vice president WH Leong notes that tocotrienols play a protective role in anti-aging, brain, liver, and heart health. “Spectra is for consumers who don’t want to take high amounts of fat [sic] and all the issues (inconvenience, high calories, etc.) associated with taking a large amount of the red palm oil,” says Leong.
Both products are certified kosher and halal.
