Traditionally touted to support overall joint health and mobility, OptiMSM is the world’s only GRAS-designated MSM (methylsulfonylmethane). U.S. manufacturer Bergstrom Nutrition says it recently recognized a natural progression toward exercise recovery and sports nutrition for MSM. Human studies were initiated to evaluate the potential benefits of OptiMSM on exercise recovery. These results, published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition on September 27, 2012, support MSM’s positive effects on exercise recovery (click here for the abstract). Bergstrom plans to leverage this and its GRAS designation to collaborate on the developments of products to support an active lifestyle.
