Varietals bring added appeal to natural cherry flavor.
Sensient Flavors LLC (Hoffman Estates, LC) is now promoting cherry varietal flavors, which will showcase the flavor nuances and cultural backgrounds of this otherwise normal fruit.
Beyond their use as ice cream topping and pastry filling, cherries in their pure and natural form provide ranges of sour, sweet, floral, and even woody flavors. And their unique nutritional value is also developing appeal.
Sensient recently distributed beverage concepts for its six varietal cherry flavors, which include Attika, black cherry, Duke, Maraschino, Morello, and wild cherry varieties. Each flavor has origins in a different country, and Sensient can fill in manufacturers on all of every other nuance-whether it’s a preferred flavor for jellies or a floral note for ready-to-drink tea.
Sensient operates in 30 countries with numerous other varietal flavor lines.
