The ingredient is a combination of lemon balm, bergamot, and peony.
Robertet Group (Grasse Cedex, France) has launched a new ingredient for menopause support called Menobelle. The ingredient is an herbal blend of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), bergamot (Citrus bergamia), and peony (Paeonia lactiflora) extracts. The company says the ingredient supports both physical and mental discomfort associated with menopause.
Lemon balm supports sleep, mood, brain health, and digestion, and combats bloating, states a company press release. Bergamot assists with cardiometabolic health. And peony offers analgesic and antispasmodic effects. The company says this ingredient is also notable because it doesn’t contain hormones or phytoestrogens. The ingredient is also upcycled for sustainability.
According to the firm, a two-month clinical trial on Menobelle conducted in 153 premenopausal and menopausal women aged 45 to 55 showed that taking two capsules of Menobelle daily resulted in relief of menopause symptoms, including hot flushes, night sweets, stomach pain fatigue, reduced sexual desire, lack of energy, and more.
The ingredient is suited for both dietary supplements and functional food.
