OmniActive Health Technologies (Morristown, NJ) reports that it earned second place recognition for a study on its Capsimax red pepper extract and weight loss at last month's Scripps Natural Supplements Conference poster sessions in San Diego.
Capsimax is a capsicum extract specially encapsulated to prevent the burning sensation traditionally associated with hot pepper consumption. At 100 mg daily for 12 weeks, Capsimax reportedly induced a significant reduction in body fat percentage in a human population. The study is pending publication.
