Nutritional Outlook’s 2021 Best of the Industry Award Winners
In Nutritional Outlook’s 2021 Best of the Industry Awards, we recognize individuals, groups, and companies whose initiatives today are helping to shape, for the better, the state of the dietary supplement and natural products industry.
In Nutritional Outlook’s Best of the Industry awards this year, we are highlighting four winners for their contributions in 2021.
Our 2021 Industry Leader is NOW, whose testing of dietary supplement products sold on Amazon.com showed how one supplement company can roll up its sleeves to try to improve the state of the market. This is the second time Nutritional Outlook has named NOW a Best of the Industry award winner. Back in 2011, we awarded NOW for a rapid adulteration-screening method that the company shared with the rest of the dietary supplements industry. In 2011, the company set an example; 10 years later, it continues to lead.
Our 2021 Best of the Industry Ingredient Supplier is Seraphina Therapeutics for its groundbreaking work in odd-chain fatty acids and pentadecanoic acid. Seraphina’s story shows how innovation did not take a break, even in the most challenging of times.
In the Service Provider category this year, we are awarding the Botanical Adulterants Prevention Program (BAPP). Five years ago, we also awarded BAPP in our Best of the Industry awards. This year, BAPP celebrates its 10th anniversary educating and warning the botanicals industry about ongoing adulteration—a role that became additionally significant during the past two tumultuous pandemic years.
Finally, we celebrate Good Catch with our 2021 Best of the Industry award for Retail Brand/Product. Within the crowded plant-based alternatives market, Good Catch stands out for pioneering plant-based seafood.
