SelectSieve Apple PCQ may reduce glucose absorption and fat accumulation, among other benefits.
Thanks to its distribution partnership with Principium (Lugano, Switzerland), Nutraceuticals International Group (Paramus, NJ) is now offering SelectSieve Apple PCQ, an apple-based ingredient the company says may reduce glucose absorption and fat accumulation, among other benefits.
The ingredient comprises three main polyphenols: phlorizin, chlorogenic acid, and quercetin. The companies say these polyphenols are isolated from the apple source in glycosylated form. In particular, phlorizin is a glucose inhibitor that may reduce glucose and calorie absorption. Additionally, chlorogenic acid helps control glucose release in the liver. Finally, quercetin is said to inhibit the PPAR gene involved in adipocyte formation, reducing fat accumulation.
