NP Nutra Launches Organic Spinach Powder
The ingredient is aimed at the booming green food market, which the company says has seen “spectacular” growth over the past 10 years.
“Spinach is the darling of the ‘Green Revolution,’ a health craze for green smoothies, because of its mild flavor, its high nutritional value, and, of course, its deep green color,” the firm says. Spinach is packed with vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, phosophorus, potassium, copper, manganese, and vitamins A, C, E, K, thiamine, riboflavin, B6, and folate. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein, and rubiscolin, a class of chemicals known as opoid peptides that may act as endorphins.
Spinach, alongside other green leafy vegetables, also offers benefits to eye health thanks to its presence of lutein and zeaxanthin. Other benefits lie in cognitive health, blood pressure, and alkalization.
