New Green Coffee Extract Ingredient May Aid Weight Management

A GMO-free green coffee extract standardized to 50% chlorogenic acid content is the newest ingredient offering from NP Nutra (Gardena, CA). Green coffee extract’s chlorogenic acid offers antioxidant benefits. NP Nutra says that a small, 22-week human study associated the ingredient with significant reductions in body weight, body mass index, and percent body fat. The company says the ingredient’s mechanism of action for weight management has not yet been determined.

NP Nutra’s green coffee extract is a light, yellow-brown powder that is 100% water soluble and ready for use in supplements and other functional products. The company says that ever since green coffee extract was featured on the popular U.S. television show, “The Dr. Oz Show,” the ingredient has gained awareness for weight management.
