The company acquired Poland-based Pektowin before the end of 2011.
Naturex (Avignon, France) just announced its acquisition of ZPOW Pektowin SA (Jaslo, Poland), a company specializing in the production of fruit pectins and fruit and vegetable juice concentrates. Once the move is approved by the Polish Ministry of the Treasury, Naturex will have a vastly improved local and global manufacturing base for these ingredients.
While the acquisition will extend Naturex’s fruit and vegetable powder offerings as well as its Vegebrite line of natural colorants, Pektowin appears highly prized for its pectin specialty.
“Pektowin benefits from a high-capacity industrial tool dedicated to the production of apple and citrus pectins and located at the heart of one of the major regions of raw materials used for production of apple pectins,” said Naturex in its public announcement of the acquisition.
Pektowin also produces more than 6000 concentrates each year, with particular specialty in apple, red beet, and black radish concentrates.
Naturex says that it will soon open a Warsaw office to facilitate support of clients and promote other ingredients through the newly acquired group locally.
