Maypro Industries (Purchase, NY) is reassuring its customers that the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan did not affect production of its AHCC mushroom-based immune-health dietary supplement or its Oligonol polyphenol supplement.
The ingredient supplier for both products is Amino Up Chemical Co., which is located in Sapporo. Sapporo is located on the northern island of Hokkaido, which is more than 350 miles from the disaster area.
Maypro says that Amino Up’s plans to expand its plants to increase production of both products’ ingredients, due to increased demand, are also unaffected. The plant expansion is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
