LycoRed to Debut Super Pigmented Beta-Carotene Colorants
The high intensity colors will give RTD beverages a natural, brighter pop of color.
LycoRed Ltd. (Beer Sheva, Israel), will launch a new range of high-intensity beta-carotene colors at Drinktec next week. Lyc-O-Beta Intense and BetaCote Intense are targeted to deliver increased color in beverage applications with less colorant usage.
Roee Nir, global commercial manager of color for LycoRed, said the products will enable formulators to create clean-label and vegetarian products because the colorants are available in natural and nature-identical sources, are kosher and halal, and are certified free of any allergenic ingredients. The products are also free of dichloromethane (DCM), an ingredient typically found in beta-carotene powder products.
Lyc-O-Beta Intense and BetaCote Intense also boast a resistance to fading that can result from pasteurization and other demanding processes. Available in a concentrated liquid, the highly soluble colorant range is ideal for RTD beverage applications because it will not foam or clump.
