Supplements brand Life Extension has launched a new product, this time featuring the Fast-C brand of vitamin C. Developed by Scientific Food Solutions (Fairfield, CA), Fast-C is said to be a faster-absorbing and better-retained ascorbic acid mineral blend.
Because vitamin C in general exits the body quickly once ingested, consumers generally have to take a supplement several times daily to see benefits; however, Fast-C’s formulation has been clinically shown in two U.S. studies to result in significant higher vitamin C blood concentrations than the leading, enhanced-absorption vitamin C product, the company says.
Fast-C also touts BioPerine black pepper extract, a bioavailability-enhancing ingredient from Sabinsa Corp. (East Windsor, NJ); as well as dihydroquercetin, a grape leaf–derived flavonoid that donates electrons back to vitamin C molecules that have spent their electrons neutralizing free radicals, to enhance the recycling power of vitamin C, the firm explains.
