Capsugel says that Licaps is an effective technology for avoiding capsule leaks and masking the strong taste and odor of krill oil.
Direct-to-consumer supplement brand Healthy Directions selected Capsugel’s (Morristown, NJ) Licaps liquid-fill hard capsules as the delivery vehicle for its Krill Omega Defense product. Capsugel says that Licaps is an effective technology for avoiding capsule leaks and masking the strong taste and odor of krill oil.
“In fact, a market survey suggests that when it comes to odor and taste, more consumers preferred krill oil doses delivered via Licaps capsule technology than those delivered in other dosage forms, such as soft gels,” the company said in a press release.
Licaps are available in vegetarian and fish-gelatin materials and are suited for liquids and semi-solids. The company’s Licaps Fusion Technology ensures a secure, hermetically bonded capsule, without banding.
