International Stevia Council Names New President

Larry Fernandes of Ingredion Inc. (Westchester, IL) is the new president of the International Stevia Council (ISC; Brussels). The stevia trade group made the announcement in late March.

Fernandes is Ingredion’s vice president of global beverages and general manager of sweetener solutions in North America. He has served on the ISC board for the past two years. The new ISC president says his goals are to increase educational activities around the benefits of the zero-calorie plant sweetener, to expanding regulatory activities, and to increase ISC membership.
