The yeasts will be food grade and suited for supplements and food.
Ingredients By Nature (Montclair, CA) has added nutritional yeasts to its portfolio, thanks to new partnerships with yeast suppliers ICC Brazil (Sao Paulo) and Angel Yeast Co. (Hubei, China). The yeasts will be food grade and suited for supplements and food.
The first ingredient to debut is a selenium yeast, which the company says offers very high organic selenium content.“For example, on a 2,000 ppm selenium yeast, our material has at least 50% of seleno-methionine-one of the highest available,” said Glycon Santos, director of ICC Brazil, in a press release.
Ingredients By Nature president Robert Brewster also pointed out, “In addition, we can add tremendous value for brand marketers who want to incorporate the yeast into formulas with our toll services. We can add high value and functionality to our new yeast products for individual customer specifications.”
