Ingredients by Nature Launches Highest-ORAC Citrus Blend
The company says it is the highest-ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) citrus formula available.
Ingredients By Nature (Montclair, CA) has launched a new proprietary ingredient formula that it says is the highest-ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) citrus formula available.
Citrushield is made from 100% whole citrus fruits. It contains citrus flavanoid extracts and whole fruit powders from five varieties of citrus fruits, including lemon (limon), lime (citrus aurantifolia), orange (citrus sinensis), tangerine (citrus reticulata), and grapefruit (citrus paradisi). The company adds that it can also be made without grapefruit.
Testing performed by Brunswick Labs has confirmed the high-ORAC content of Citrushield. The ingredient can be custom manufactured to meet formulation needs in terms of specific ORAC values (between 5,000 µmole TE/g and 80,000 µmole TE/g), as well as citrus variety preferences, the company says. It is available in powder or granulation form.
The company is also currently working on a companion ingredient, a Citrushield citrus flavonoid formula to support healthy inflammatory response.
