Enreco’s Flaxseed Processing Validated for Pathogens

The company says the verification exceeds FDA’s mandated threshold for pathogen kill-step validation.

Flaxseed and sorghum ingredient supplier Enreco Inc. (Newton, WI) has received third-party verification of its 5-log kill step for its flaxseed ingredient processing line. The company says the verification exceeds FDA’s mandated threshold for pathogen kill-step validation.

Because whole grains and nutmeats are relatively unprocessed, they can be a source of concern as potentially introducing foodborne pathogens into baking and other food-processing environments.

“This is one more important milestone in our commitment to provide the food industry with high-quality ingredients that are clean, safe, and consistent,” said Sean Moriarty, the company’s president.
