Cyvex will assume all sales, promotion, support, and further development for the weight-management ingredient.
Cyvex Nutrition (Irvine, CA) has announced an agreement with Holland-based Solanic to distribute Solanic’s SolaThin weight-management ingredient. Cyvex will assume all sales, promotion, support, and further development for the ingredient.
The companies partnered earlier this year, when Cyvex introduced SolaThin to the U.S. market. The ingredient is a potato protein extract consisting of several low-molecular-weight proteins, including protease inhibitor PI-2. PI-2 enables the release of cholecystokinin (CKK), a naturally occurring peptide with satiety benefits.
The companies also announced plans for a human clinical trial on SolaThin, to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, on 60 adults.
